OOTD: Just a Fling

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing an ootd (outfit of the day) with you all! I am always looking for new places to shop, and I follow many fashion pages on Instagram. A while back, I followed @shoppriceless on Instagram. I would always love the outfits that they posted, but I never bought from them until now!

This is the “Just a Fling Snakeskin Romper” in a size medium. I bought this for $45. I absolutely love rompers because they are stylish and so easy to wear. Snakeskin seems to be a major trend right now, so I knew I needed to own at least one item with a snakeskin print. The outfit seems to be made of a decent quality, however the items on the site may be a little bit overpriced.

To go with the romper, I decided to wear some simple black block heels. If you keep up with my blog, you have probably seen these shoes before. They are my go-to heels! They match everything and I always go back to them. I bought these from Amazon a couple years ago.

I am a gold jewelry kind of girl, so of course, that is what I wore today! I layered on 2 necklaces, a gold coin and a herringbone. I recently bought both of these and I’ve been wearing them all the time. The gold coin was purchased from Amazon, and the herringbone was purchased from DarlingJewelryStudio on Etsy! I am wearing 2 gold bracelets, both are from Amazon. For earrings, I am wearing a pair that used to be my moms. And lastly, I wore my 2 gold rings that I wear everyday!

A few of my jewelry pieces and my shoes are linked here!

Fashion Picks for my Everyday Style

I love looking put together and styling different outfits. This has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl; the only difference is my style is much better! Today, I am going to break down my go-to clothing and accessories that make up my everyday look.

There are certain items of clothing that I will never wear outside of the house. I always say that I have to look “decent” before going out. This doesn’t mean going full glam 24/7, but it does mean no sweatpants, pajamas, or old, unflattering clothing outside of the house. While it many not seem like it, I definitely have quite a few casual days too!

Now, I have mentioned this before, but I find it difficult to describe my style. I am constantly changing up my looks, from girly and chic to casual and cool. I can be really bold and out there, and other times I like to keep it simple. It honestly depends on so many things! If I had to use a few words to describe my style, I would say vintage inspired, feminine, and bold. I find myself always going back to a feminine and classic look.

This outfit perfectly captures my go-to glam look (not necessarily my everyday look).

Clothing

Crop tops

Crop tops have been in style for quite some time now, and I have been a fan since day 1. I know that they can be worn very casually, but I have found ways to wear them and make them look classy (see photo above). It depends on the style and color! I own quite a few crop tops, and I’ll typically wear them all year round (but even moreso throughout the spring and summer time)!

High waisted bottoms

Ever since high waisted bottoms have come back in style, I have been completely obsessed! I feel that they are flattering on so many body types! If I decide to wear jeans, they are always high waisted. The same can be said for shorts, and even some skirts! Plus, crop tops look best with high waisted bottoms. When pairing the two pieces together, you really can’t go wrong.

Midi dresses/skirts

Most of the time, especially in the warmer months, I’ll opt for skirts or dresses over pants or shorts! I absolutely love how effortless dresses are, and they can be so easy to style! I love the classy look of a midi dress/skirt. They aren’t too short, and they aren’t too long. They perfectly end mid-calf.

Accessories

Block heels

While flats are incredibly comfortable, and I choose them over heels often, there is something about heels that I just love. While I love the look of stiletto heels, I am terrified of falling in them! Plus, I don’t think I could walk in them very easily! I am a big fan of chunky/block heels. These are much easier to walk in, and they are still very stylish. In the spring and summer, I’ll wear strappy block heels, and in the fall and winter you’ll see me rocking chunky booties!

Gold dainty jewelry

I used to be a big fan of silver jewelry, but in recent years, gold has become my go-to. I still wear silver, depending on what looks best with my outfit! I also used to love chunky jewelry, and now I absolutely adore the look of dainty pieces. I’ll typically wear dangly earrings, simple bracelets, a dainty necklace, and my 2 gold rings.

I always have to laugh when my family and I go out together because 80% of the time, I am overdressed compared to the rest of them! I never really mind though, because I love dressing up (even if it is just to go out to eat on the weekends). I always say that I wish I had big, fancy events to go to because then I could dress up all the time and have a real reason for it! Some people say that they save fancy outfits for special occasions, well, I’m the type of person who feels that life is a special occasion!

I hope you’re all having a beautiful day! Thank you so much for reading!

Sister Style Swap

Hey everyone! Today I am doing something a bit different! I was watching YouTube recently and came across a few “sister style swap” videos. I thought it was funny seeing two sisters with two very different styles swapping looks for a day. I was inspired to do this myself, and I knew my younger sister Alexa would be interested in doing it as well.

Alexa (or Lexi, as we call her), is my younger sister. She is 16, and I am 20. When we were little, I would always dress Lexi up, often putting her in kitten heels and frilly dresses. At the time, she didn’t mind being my own human barbie doll. If anything, she loved it. As we got older, we came in to our own personal styles that ended up being very different from each others. While my love of heels and dresses remained, Lexi found a love for graphic tees and mom jeans.

Let’s start by describing our own personal style!

Amanda:

If you have been following my blog and keeping up with my ootd’s (outfit of the days), you most likely have a feel for my style already. I personally feel like there is not one way to describe my style. I always say my style is all over the place (in the best way possible). I am constantly changing up my looks. One day I will walk down the stairs in a long pink dress, and the next day I’ll be in jeans and a t-shirt. If I had to describe my style in a few words I would say that I am mostly attracted to pieces that are vintage (or vintage inspired), feminine, and bold. I can wear some things that are very out there and unique, and other times I am very laid-back and casual (it honestly depends on so many things; the weather, my mood, the event, etc. though I think many people could say this). I feel that the outfits in my “before” photo represent my style most.

Lexi:

Lexi enjoys being comfortable and if she had to describe her personal style, she would use the words laid-back, fun, and unique. She often goes for jeans and t-shirts, but she mixes it up at times as well. She isn’t afraid to rock bright colors, and she will SOMETIMES choose to wear a dress or a matching set. Lexi has a small collection of sneakers and that is really all she wears when it comes to shoes. While her style is not incredibly girly, she likes to go all out when it comes to her hair and makeup. The “before” photo above perfectly captures Lexi’s style.

Time to Swap!

Amanda:

Ok, so it’s pretty clear that Lexi and I have different styles. I am much more girly, and she tends to be more casual. So, this is different for me, to say the least. I never really wear graphic tees, and if I do, it’s rare. This one specifically has old cartoon characters on it (most of which she was unfamiliar with, but she liked it and wears it anyway). I was comfortable wearing the jeans because they are mine (we are different sizes in jeans), but the shoes were very out there in my opinion. They are light pink and floral (which I liked), however they are a bit more of a platform shoe. I really only wear sneakers when I am working out or hiking, so I wouldn’t really ever choose to wear these myself. Lately, Lexi has been putting butterfly clips in her hair almost daily, so she put a couple in my hair to complete the look. I never really do much when it comes to styling my hair, but I am not exactly a fan of butterfly clips! I felt like I looked a lot younger than I am while wearing them.

The entire outfit was very Lexi, which was exactly what I wanted for this challenge. I wanted us to completely transform ourselves into the other person. I felt fine walking around in public (mostly because all we did was eat some lunch at the park, so there was really no one around).

Lexi:

When I first thought of doing this swap, I knew I wanted to put Lexi in a dress. She typically goes for jeans or shorts rather than skirts and dresses (plus, she sometimes claims that I dress like an old woman, so I wanted to put her in something a bit more… vintage 😉 ). I knew this would be out of her comfort zone for sure. As I watched Lexi walk around in my heels, I had to laugh. She didn’t struggle very much but she did complain that her feet were killing her a couple times! I am normally comfortable wearing heels a bit longer.  For her hair, I simply took 2 strands in the front and clipped them back with a diamond hair clip. I never really do too much to my hair, but I love this hair style because it is so easy to do, plus I think it’s pretty. As we walked around the park Lexi brought up the fact that she felt awkward and uncomfortable because she would never wear this outfit. Again, lucky for her, no one was really around. Plus, no stranger knows how we normally dress anyway.

I have actually worn this exact outfit before (if you’ve been following my blog from the beginning you may remember 😉). I am so used to standing out when I am with my family because I dress up so often. Even when my family is out in t-shirts and pants, I’ll be wearing a dress. Lexi, however, is not used to that at all!

Seeing our family’s reactions to our new look was hilarious. My brother even walked over to Lexi thinking it was me, so I’d say we did a pretty good job!  Lexi and I also thought it would be fun to include our older sister, Michelle, in this challenge so maybe we will do that sometime in the future! We all have such different styles so it would be fun to do it again!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Lexi and I had fun swapping styles! Lexi will be posting a YouTube video of our style swap experience in the next few days, so be on the lookout for that and subscribe to support her! Her YouTube channel will be linked here (I will update once she posts the video)!

Leave me a comment and tell me whose style is most similar to your own!

OOTD: Spring Style

I am very excited about sharing this OOTD because I purchased it while on my dream trip. I am a big fan of wearing dresses, and I absolutely adore this one!

Earlier this year, I went on my dream trip to France! Of course, I did a bit of shopping while I was there, and brought back a few pieces that I fell in love with. I want to start by talking about the dress itself. While I was walking through the Latin Quarter in Paris, a few of the girls and I stopped by some of the boutiques. We were really just window shopping, but when we stopped by a boutique called Côte à Côte, something caught my eye.

I purchased this beautiful dress for €29.99. This high-low dress is perfect for spring, and the colors are stunning as well. I actually do not have a lot of green in my wardrobe, so this was different for me! The dress is also white and gold with a little bit of navy blue in there as well. The pattern reminds me of New Orleans, and the ruffles add to the feminine look. There is also a fabric belt to cinch in the waist.

The dress is by the brand “Chic and Jeune”, but sadly, I could not find this dress online. Unless you live by a boutique called Côte à Côte, I am not sure there is any way you can purchase this exact dress. I apologize about this, however, I found a VERY similar dress that can be purchased on Amazon for around $17! Another similar dress is linked here.

As for shoes, I am wearing my go-to black heels. I love the simple yet elegant look of block heels, and I bought these from Amazon a couple of years ago for around $20-$30. They are by the brand “Madden Girl”.

When it comes to jewelry, I love having a staple piece (or pieces) that I wear daily. I am wearing these 2 gold rings that I have been wearing every day since I was about 13 or 14 years old. My mother let me have them, and I love the look of dainty rings. For my earrings, I am wearing a pair that were my grandma’s. When she passed away, my dad let me have some of her jewelry, and I think that these earrings are beautiful. I am also wearing this gold coin necklace that I just purchased from Amazon. I love the vintage vibe that I get with this necklace! Lastly, I added a few gold bangles.

My Must Have Jeans

I know that for many people, myself included, finding the perfect pair of jeans can be quite the struggle. If they fit your waist, there’s a good chance they don’t fit your thighs… at least that seems to be my problem! My body has changed over the past 4 years thanks to weight lifting. While I do love my legs, finding jeans that fit me in all the right places is still not easy.

Throughout most of my teenage years, low/mid rise jeans were what everyone was wearing. I’d say around 2016, high waisted jeans started to become trendy and everyone was wearing them again. It’s funny how certain trends always come back around eventually.

Since then, I have only been wearing high waisted jeans! I feel that they are incredibly flattering on most people, and they are very stylish as well. Today, I wanted to talk about 2 of my absolute favorite pairs of jeans. These 2 pairs of jeans are very different styles as well as very different prices! I want to let you all know that while denim can definitely be expensive, if you are on a budget, you don’t have to break the bank to find a great pair of jeans!

The first pair I want to talk about are the Skinny High Ankle Jeans from H&M (size 28). I purchased these jeans earlier this year for, get this… $10! I do not believe that this particular wash is still available online, however there are multiple shades! Now, I was skeptical at first because I knew that $10 jeans most likely meant that the quality was not great, but hear me out!

A couple of years ago, I remember buying a pair of high waisted skinny jeans from H&M, and I remember the fact that they were $10 because I still talk about it to this day. I thought that I had just found them on sale, but now I am pretty sure that H&M always has $10 jeans in their stores.  I do think that these jeans are made of a decent quality, but I can only hope that they will stand the test of time. I will let you all know if these jeans don’t last, but I seriously hope they do, at least for a while, because they are a steal! The jeans fit me perfectly, and I have no issues when wearing them! You can also style these jeans in a variety of ways (this is one of my favorite things about jeans). If you are on a budget, I highly recommended looking into H&M jeans because they are so comfortable and flattering. (If you do purchase these, keep in mind that this specific pair are ankle jeans, so if you’re on the taller side, this may not be what you are looking for! H&M has other jeans for $10, so I would check them out!)

Next, I want to talk about my all-time favorite jeans. These are the PacSun Terra Blue High Waisted Straight Leg Jeans (size 26). I bought these jeans for about $35, but they are originally around $60! I never really bought my jeans from PacSun before; partly because they are usually too expensive for me, but also because I really had no desire to go into this store. I came across these jeans while scrolling through Instagram a while back and I fell in love with them.

For all my ladies who lift, these jeans are going to change your life! As I mentioned, my legs have gotten a bit bigger from weight training. While I do love my body and the strength I’ve gained, it has made shopping a tad more difficult, but these jeans are truly a dream!

I had never owned any straight leg jeans, and the laid back style is new to me, but it is safe to say that I am obsessed with it. Although I love skinny jeans, I am 100% certain that the straight leg mom jeans are taking its place. They are more comfortable than skinny jeans and you can dress them up or down. I personally think that these jeans look best when worn casually. I think that they flatter me very nicely as well.  I have a feeling that I am only going to buy this style from now on!

Since the jeans at this store are a bit pricey, I would try to find discount codes, and keep an eye out for any sales on their denim! If you sign up to receive emails from PacSun, you will get discount codes and exclusive offers, so I would check into that as well! If you are a student at a University like me, download the app called “UNiDAYS”. You simply put in your information based on the university that you attend, and you can start searching for deals on all of your favorite stores!

I’ve always felt that jeans should be a staple piece in everyone’s wardrobe because they are perfect for most occasions and everybody needs that one pair that fits them in ALL the right places (I know I’ve found mine)! If you haven’t found a pair that work for you, check out the stores I mentioned above, and hopefully you’ll find a new favorite in your price range! Thank you so much for reading! (You can now shop my looks directly from my website! If you click the item I mention, it will take you straight to the website to purchase the product)!

OOTD: Fluent in French

There are many things that come to mind when I think of Paris, however one of the biggest is, of course, fashion! While traveling to France over spring break, I purchased a few clothing items and I have been dying to share them with you! So, what better way to do that than an outfit of the day?

I have always been a very observant person, so in the midst of enjoying the beautiful buildings and attractions in Paris and Lyon, I obviously noticed what people were wearing. While some locals were dressed a bit more casually, I saw many who, in my mind, looked exactly how I expected them to look. Elegant, classy, and chic. The women looked very put together and stylish, and the same could be said for the men. French casual is VERY different from American casual, to say the least. By looking at the locals, shopping, and browsing through the boutiques, I found my inspiration for a Parisian outfit.

I want to start by talking about one of my newest obsessions. While shopping on the Champs Elysees, a few of the girls and I decided to stop by Zara. I know that this is a store I could shop at in America, but I do not believe there is a Zara near me! I can honestly say that I never imagined I’d be wearing a skort again, but here we are! This is the Buttoned Skort in Black. I fell in love with this the second I saw it. I knew I needed to have it. The button details as well as the hints of silver and gold are stunning. I bought this skort for €19.95 in a size small. This piece does not necessarily give off a “Parisian” vibe, however I HAD to include it in this outfit because I am so in love with it!

For my top, I wanted to wear something simple. I am wearing a black, cropped bustier top. I purchased this top from PacSun for about $35 in a size medium. I was debating whether or not to wear a white or a black top, but I ultimately decided that the black top looked best with this outfit!

And now, my favorite souvenir. One thing that I was searching for on my trip was a nice brown trench coat. When I think of French fashion, the first thing that pops into my head are trench coats. I really wanted this to be my biggest souvenir. The trip was almost over, and I had yet to find a trench coat in my price range. I found that many of the trench coats I was looking at were a little too pricey for my budget. While touring through Old Lyon, my friend and I decided to stop by a store called Pimkie, which I believe is the European equivalent to H&M. As soon as we walked in, I spotted a beautiful light brown trench coat. This coat is a bit thinner than the others that I found, which means it can be worn pretty much all year round. I paid €50.00 for this coat, and it is in a size small.

For my shoes, I decided to wear my black pointed toe ankle boots. I purchased these last fall from Forever 21.  I feel that these shoes were the perfect choice for this outfit because pointed toe shoes always look classy and the locals seemed to love ankle boots as well!

As for the accessories, I wanted to share the most important piece that completes this look: A black beret. Call me cliché, but I knew I couldn’t leave France without buying one… or two! I actually thought that the locals did not wear berets, and that it was a style that tourists took over. However, I actually saw quite a few of the locals wearing them!

Thank you so much for reading! I may not be fluent in French, but I am definitely fluent in French fashion! 😉

Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like me, you have probably had your outfit picked out weeks ago. If you have no idea what to wear, fear not! Today, I am going to be sharing four different outfit ideas for Valentine’s Day! Whether you are going on a date or heading off to class, one of these outfits should spark some V-Day inspiration!

Outfit #1:

Let’s start off with something fun. If you’re heading out for a date or a girls night, this outfit is for you! You can never go wrong with a little black dress. If you are a bit more bold and you prefer to wear more color, a red or pink dress would be beautiful as well! I chose black because I typically prefer more neutral colors, plus I get to have a bit of fun with my makeup and accessories this way! With this black dress, I thought that a simple pair of black block heels looked gorgeous. Lastly, I paired this outfit with a sequined clutch. (If I were going to wear this outfit, I would most likely do a natural eye look and a bold pink lip!)

Outfit #2:

This outfit is for those of you who may be working or going to a business casual event on V-Day. I absolutely love this outfit! I would wear this any day! For this look, I paired some black ankle pants with a long sleeved pink turtle neck. I have such a love for blazers, and I feel that blazers can instantly transform a look and give the outfit more of a professional vibe. I love the pattern of this blazer, and I think that it makes the outfit a bit more unique and stylish. For the shoes, I went with these black pointed toe ankle boots. These have been one of my latest obsessions, and I always find myself reaching for them.

Outfit #3:

This next outfit is for those of you who aren’t very girly or those of you who prefer a more casual look. For this outfit, I wanted to go for something simple. I paired a pink v-neck tee with a pair of dark high waisted jeans. I love white shoes, and I think that my white Stan Smith’s looked best with this outfit. I really like this look because it is very simple, yet by wearing pink you will still feel like you’re in the Valentine’s Day spirit! If pink is not your color, you could wear red or even purple! You could also throw on a neutral colored cardigan (such as black or gray) for a cozier feel.

Outfit #4:

This last outfit is most likely what I will be wearing (or at least something very similar). I love dressing up, but since I have no Valentine’s Day plans, I will most likely be going to class, going to work, and then spending the rest of my day at home. My style tends to change day to day, but for the most part, I love feminine or vintage-inspired pieces. For this look, I took this cropped white top with pink roses on it and put it over a black tank for layering. I am so obsessed with the bell sleeves on this top! I paired this piece with ripped high waisted jeans and simple black flats.

I hope that this post was helpful to you and that it gave you some Valentine’s Day inspiration! I had a lot of fun creating these 4 very different looks for you all. It’s funny, I feel like all of these outfits are very much my style. I would wear every single one (depending on the occasion of course)!

OOTD: Whirlwind Winter

Winter is in full swing but that won’t stop me from wearing dresses! Luckily where I live it doesn’t get absolutely freezing in the winter. Winters where I live usually look like 40-50 degree weather. Recently, I decided to check out one of my favorite stores, H&M. As I was shopping, I found this dress and quickly fell in love with it.

This dress is a part of the Richard Allan X H&M: Wearable Art collection and I purchased it for $18. I also saw a shirt with this same pattern at the store, but of course, I chose the dress. After doing a quick google search, I found that Richard Allan was a famous scarf designer during the swinging sixties in London. H&M describes the pieces in this collection as, “Abstract, avant-garde design in high-octane color.”

This dress is perfect for the winter time, and I love the unique pattern as well as the sleeves! It definitely reminds me of the sixties. My mother even described it as “hippie-ish”. The pattern is incredibly bold, so I like that the colors are more neutral (pink, gray, white, and black). I feel that this dress is perfect for most occasions and could be worn for anything from work to a girl’s brunch. I wore this dress for lunch with my family this past weekend. I am almost always overdressed, but at this point I’m so used to it!

I paired this dress with my black knee-high boots that I purchased a couple years ago from Charlotte Russe. As I have mentioned before, these are pretty much my go-to shoes in the fall/winter. Underneath the boots, I wore some knee-high socks to stay warm. Wearing knee-high socks also keeps the boots from slipping down my legs.

As for jewelry, I am wearing these beautiful gold fringe earrings and these two simple gold rings. These pieces were my mother’s but she let me have them a few years ago. I wear the two gold rings every day. Lastly, I wore a simple pair of black sunglasses that I purchased from H&M.

Thank you so much for checking out my newest blog post! I hope you’re all having an amazing day! Until next time!

OOTD: Christmas Eve

There is nothing more stunning than a red dress, especially during the holidays! Today I wanted to share a Christmas Eve OOTD (outfit of the day) with you all because I recently purchased the most beautiful dress.

This is the “Dance of Romance Red Lace Cold-Shoulder Midi Dress” from Lulus.com! When I was online shopping for some holiday outfits, I came across this dress on sale for $18. If you read my Thanksgiving OOTD, you would know that Lulus has quickly become one of my favorite online stores!

I paired this outfit with these simple black block heels that I bought on Amazon last year (I am not too sure of the price, but they may have been around $20-$30 dollars). The heels are by the brand “Madden Girl”.

I typically prefer to wear gold jewelry, however I felt that silver matched the dress better! I wore a simple pair of diamond earrings and a silver bow ring. Lastly, I took this sequin clutch that I purchased at TJ Maxx to complete the look! (For a few more photos of this outfit, check out my Instagram: @sacchere14.)

It is actually an incredibly beautiful day out (65 degrees)! Although I wish it were a bit colder so that it would feel more like Christmas, I’m glad I did not freeze in this dress! I think that I have only experienced a few white Christmases in my life, and it is something I wish I could experience more often.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I hope that you are spending time with the people you love most! Enjoy every moment, and I will be back to chat with you all in a couple days! Thank you for reading! Merry Christmas!
