Hey everyone! This past week, my summer ended and I began my final year of college. I took a little time away from blogging to get into my new routine, but I am back with more content to share!
For today, I am sharing what is in my August Ipsy glam bag! This month, Ipsy shared that “the future is bright… look inside and see what kind of beauty tomorrow holds for you.” While I don’t necessarily think that this bag is the cutest, I do think that the holographic finish is pretty cool, and it goes perfectly with this month’s theme of the future.
Inside the bag:
Estate Cosmetics – Going Nutty Bronzer in Coco
I have been loving bronzers this summer, so I was really happy to see that this product was in my bag! This bronzer is the perfect color for my skin tone, and it was easily blendable as well! It didn’t look too harsh or muddy on my skin, which I appreciated. I didn’t expect this product to have a scent, but it smells amazing and it reminds me of the summer time! I rated this 5/5 stars.
Kaleido Cosmetics – Muse Skin – Ultra-Fine Pearl Illuminator in Goddess
I own a couple products from this brand, so I was hopeful when I saw that I received another! I have a slight obsession with glowing skin, and I feel that this is the perfect summer highlighter! The golden shimmer completes a makeup look beautifully, and it is pigmented as well! I rated this product 4/5 stars.
Illamasqua – Powder Eyeshadow in Invoke
When I first saw this silver/charcoal color, I thought it was going to be a bit too dramatic for me. After applying it, I realized this wasn’t exactly the case. I love applying shimmer shades on my lids, and this one was gorgeous. It is not the most pigmented eyeshadow, but it worked really well for the look I was going for! I think it is the perfect shadow for special occasions and/or holidays! I rated this 4/5 stars.
Murad – Clarifying Cleanser
I was in need of a new cleanser, so I was happy to receive this. I have tried a couple products by Murad before, so I was looking forward to trying this one. I especially enjoy cleansing my face after wearing makeup or sweating during the day. While this one does not have the greatest scent, it does cleanse my face well, and I still plan on using it. It is not my favorite cleanser. I rated this 3/5 stars.
I chose to receive this product this month because I have very dark under eye circles, so I am always looking for new eye creams to try. This is the kind of product that you need to use for a little while before fully reviewing it. I have been using this since I received my glam bag, however I can’t really say if I have noticed a difference with my under eye area. With this product, a little goes a very long way, and it does take a while to settle into the skin. If I had to rate this product at the moment, I would give it 3/5 stars (however this may change as I continue to use it.)
Thank you so much for reading! If you are an Ipsy member, comment below and tell me what you received in your August glam bag!
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a makeup tutorial with you all. This has been my go-to glam look for a little while now! When creating this look, I decided to use all of my absolute favorite beauty products at the moment. You may have seen me talk about a few of these products before, but I had to include them because they have become favorites of mine!
This makeup look is somehow natural yet smokey at the same time. It can really be worn for any occasion, and at any time of year! Like most of my makeup tutorials, this one is pretty simple to do/follow along with!
As always, I like to start with my eyes. I prefer to do my eyes before my face so that if there is any fallout or if I make any mistakes, I won’t ruin the entire look. If I am being honest, I don’t have a favorite eye primer, so I just like to use whatever I could find. I gently dab this onto and around my eyelids. (Remember to be very gentle around the eyes as it is such a sensitive area.)
Then, I move on to eyeshadow. For this look, I am using the gorgeous duo palette by Jules Smith Beauty in “Wise Guy and Gold Mine.” I am such a big fan of shimmer shades and neutral colors, so this duo is perfect for me. The colors are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I took a shadow brush and applied the lighter color all over my lids. I then took a crease brush and a very small amount of the darker color, and lightly applied this into my crease. I used a fluffy blending brush to blend the colors, creating a bit of a smokey look.
For mascara, I used my all-time favorite, which is the Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara. I rave about this product all the time because it is truly the BEST mascara I have ever tried. (If you would like to read more about it, check out my review here.) I simply curled my lashes and applied a couple coats to my top and bottom lashes, leaving them long and voluminous.
The next step was eyeliner. I used the Long-Lasting Eye Pencil by the brand Essence. I lined my waterline and tightline with black to add a bit more drama to the look. I use liners like this every time I do a full face of makeup.
Now we move on to the face! I recently tried out a new face primer that I very quickly fell in love with, and that is the Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer by Ciaté London. I love that this primer does exactly what it says it will do! It smells great and it leaves my skin feeling very refreshed. I then applied foundation. I talk about this one all the time, but I used my Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. This has been my go-to foundation for a few years now, and I still love it! I dotted this onto my face and then blended it out with a beauty blender. I used a bit of extra foundation under and around my eyes as a substitute for concealer.
Next, I went in with a loose powder. I applied the Bellápierre Banana Setting Powder to set my foundation and to help create a matte finish.
I was never the biggest fan of bronzer or contour, but I have been using a bit of bronzer in my makeup looks lately. I love the way it adds some color and glow to my skin! I used the Bronze Booster by Physicians Formula. What I love about this bronzer is that it isn’t too dark or too light for my skin tone, and it adds a subtle glow without looking muddy.
I absolutely love applying blush, so for this look, I took my Kaleido Cosmetics blush in the shade “Primadonna” and applied this to the apples of my cheeks. I blended in the color a bit to make it appear more natural.
I then used my favorite highlighter by Ofra x Madison Miller in the shade ”Moondance.” I took an angled brush and sweeped this onto my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, as well as my brow bones and the inner corners of my eyes.
I always like to apply chapstick before applying lipstick or gloss, but I don’t necessarily have a favorite. I used my Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick by Maybelline in the shade “Lover.” I adore matte lipsticks and Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand, so I reach for these often. I love this pink shade, and felt that it completed the look beautifully!
I naturally have full brows, so most of the time I will simply brush through them and let them be. I haven’t tried any brow products other than the Benefit Gimme Brow + Volumizing Brow Gel, which I will occasionally use.
This completes the makeup tutorial! Thank you so much for checking out today’s blog post. Let me know your thoughts on this tutorial and makeup look in a comment below!
Hey everyone! Last month, I didn’t have a chance to post about my June glam bag, so for today, I will be sharing what I received in both my June and July Ipsy glam bags!
For the month of June, Ipsy wanted its members to make waves with some new summer beauty! I absolutely love this month’s bag; it is perfect for summer! I am a fan of the pale yellow, and the cute characters make it so fun! I rated my overall bag 4/5 stars!
Inside the glam bag:
Doucce Cosmetics – Freematic Highlighter Mono in Glisten
I love nothing more than a good highlighter, however this particular one was not that amazing in my opinion. While I absolutely love the shade, I simply don’t feel that it is anything to rave about. It took a bit of effort to build it up. I rated this 2/5 stars.
Kensie – Body Lotion Kensie Eau de Parfum
I never care to receive body lotions or butters because I already have quite a few! I was surprised to find that I actually liked this one a lot! I love the scent! I’ll typically apply this to my legs and use the rest for my hands. I rated this 4/5 stars.
Pureheals – Ginseng Berry 80 Overnight Mask
Ever since I received this product, I have been using it every night. I have to say, I haven’t really noticed this product helping or hurting my skin. I just use it as a moisturizer before bed. This mask is meant to refresh and re-energize your skin overnight so that you are glowing in the morning. While it does feel refreshing to apply, and I love the berry scent, I haven’t seen incredible results. I rated this product 3/5 stars.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics – Buildable Blush in Bali Babe
Lately, I have been obsessed with wearing blush! Rosy cheeks have become a go-to look for me, so I was excited to receive this product! This blush is very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. It can be a bit difficult to blend though, so I wouldn’t recommend applying too much anyway! I love the bright pink color because it is perfect for the summer time! I rated this 4/5 stars.
Sugar Cosmetics – Matte As Hell Lip Crayon in Scarlett O’Hara (my pick)
I love having a variety of lip colors to choose from. For the longest time I avoided red lipsticks but I have been the biggest fan for about a year now! I love how bright and bold this color is, and once again, it is perfect for summer (or really any time of year). I love that it is a lip crayon because it makes it easier to apply. I rated this crayon 4/5 stars.
Coloured Raine Cosmetics – Eyeshadow in Glamour
This month, I had enough points to pick an extra product, so I chose this gorgeous eyeshadow. This champagne shade is absolutely stunning, and I love the metallic finish. It is very pigmented, and this color can be used to create a variety of looks. Whether you use it on its own, or you incorporate it into a dramatic look, the end result is sure to be beautiful. I rated this 5/5 stars.
For the month of July, Ipsy wanted its members to enjoy a “staycation” with fresh new beauty products! The design of this bag is not my favorite. While I love the pink color as well as the airplane zipper, the “escape” logo is not the cutest in my opinion. When rating my overall bag, I gave it 3/5 stars.
Inside the glam bag:
Ciaté London – Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer
I have tried a few products by this brand before and I have loved them all! This primer was no exception! This product does exactly what it says it’ll do. It hydrates my skin, and it truly does smell like watermelon candy. The scent is somewhat strong, so if you’re not a fan of fruity scents, this may not be for you. I love that my skin feels so refreshed after applying this primer! I rated this 5/5 stars.
Jules Smith Beauty – Power Duo Palette in Wise Guy and Gold Mine
I always tend to go for golds, browns, and taupes when it comes to eyeshadows, so this duo is perfect for me! The colors are very pigmented, and they are very easily blendable. I applied the lighter color on my lids, and the darker color in my crease and it created the most beautiful look! I rated this duo 5/5 stars.
Murad – Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30
I honestly only used this a couple times, but it is probably not something I would have bought on my own. I like that this product didn’t leave a white cast on my skin, and I enjoyed the orange scent. I would have to use this product a bit more to fully be able to rate it.
Thrive Causemetics – Lip Filler Long Wearing + Plumping Lip Liner in Devin
My all-time favorite mascara is by Thrive Causemetics, so I was excited to see that another Thrive product came my way. Sadly, I am not into lip liners, so I am probably not going to use this liner too often. I did use it to line and fill in my lips completely, and I really do like the color, however it is better suited for fall rather than summer. I found that it was creamy and easy to apply. I rated this 3/5 stars.
Verb – Curl Cream (my pick)
This is the product I chose to receive this month! I don’t always receive hair products from Ipsy, but when I saw this, I had to try it out! I have naturally curly/wavy hair, so I was hopeful that this would enhance my natural curls. After washing my hair and letting it dry for a bit, I applied this product. I didn’t love the scent, but it is not incredibly overpowering. When I woke up the next day, my hair was a bit softer, but my curls didn’t seem to be too noticeably different. It did enhance them a little, but it wasn’t anything amazing. I rated this 3/5 stars.
Thank you so much for reading today’s blog post! If you are an Ipsy member, leave me a comment and tell me what you have received in your July glam bag! Until next time!
Hey everyone! As you may be aware, I recently celebrated my 21st birthday! My best friend, being the amazing person she is, got me a few things that I had been wanting recently. One of those things happened to be the new Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara. I had been wanting to try out this product for a while now, and I finally got my hands on it (thanks Danielle)! As you can tell from the title, I will be sharing a brief review of this product today!
I have always been a big fan of Maybelline mascaras (and Maybelline in general). My all time favorite mascara by Maybelline is the Lash Sensational Curvitude. Even after trying this new one, my favorite has remained the same, and I will explain why.
To apply this mascara, I simply curled my lashes, and brushed them through with a clean lash & brow wand. My lashes often need to be brushed through gently before applying any product just to make sure they are all facing the same direction. (Anyone else have this problem?)
The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara has a double curved lifting brush (an hourglass shape) with a fiber infused formula. I normally prefer wands that are thinner and curved because bigger wands can sometimes clump your lashes and it can be difficult to apply the product. Though I had never tried this type of wand before, I found that I had no issues while using it!
When trying out a new mascara, I look for length, volume, and separation. It did a great job of separating my lashes and even lengthening them a bit, however, when it came to volume, it was so-so. I found that this mascara is not exactly the most natural or the most dramatic; it is the perfect in between. If you’re hoping to create a very dramatic look, this mascara may not be your first choice. Volume creates drama, and that is what this product is lacking for me. In my opinion, this product is not exactly mind-blowing, but it is the perfect everyday mascara, and I will continue using it on a regular basis! If I had to rate this mascara, I would give it a 4/5 stars, and I would absolutely recommend trying it out for yourself!
If you have tried out this mascara, leave me a comment below and tell me what you think of it! Thank you so much for reading!
Hey everyone! I’m excited to share my May glam bag with you all today! I feel like lately my glam bags haven’t been that great but I did enjoy this one a bit more, so let’s get into it!
This month, Ipsy wanted its members to glow for magic hour, and I think that this is the perfect theme to start off the summer! I really love the bag this month. It is a beautiful ombré of pink, yellow, and orange, reminding me of a summer sunset. I rated the overall bag 4/5 stars. If there was a half star system I would have given it 3 ½ stars!
Inside the glam bag:
Thebalm Cosmetics – AUTOBALM ® Day 2 NITE in Wall St
I always love receiving eyeshadows in my glam bags and this one did not disappoint! I tend to go for browns, golds, and taupes when it comes to eyeshadows, so this one is perfect for me. I love doing very natural, glowy makeup looks. This shadow is a gorgeous champagne/gold color and it is very pigmented. This is the perfect everyday color. I rated this shadow 5/5 stars (though I would like to receive more browns in the future).
SLMISSGLAM – SS57 Brush
I never really care to receive makeup brushes because I already have quite a few. Though this was not needed, it is a cute makeup brush. I like that the handle is sparkly and pink with 2 small diamonds at the top. I’ve been using this brush to add shadows in my crease and it blends the colors beautifully. I rated this 2/5 stars (simply because I didn’t want the product but if you’re looking for a new crease/blending brush this one is great).
Pure Brazilian – Daily Anti-Frizz Serum
I was happy to see that this was in my glam bag because I always struggle with frizzy hair, but especially in the hotter months! I have a leave-in conditioner by Pure Brazilian and I love how smooth and shiny it makes my hair, so I was hopeful when trying this. The directions say to apply a quarter size amount onto towel dried hair from root to tip. I think I applied it while my hair was still too wet because it made my hair even more frizzy when I woke up the next morning! I tried using it again, but this time I waited until my hair was a bit more dry, and it still made my hair pretty frizzy. The only good thing about this serum is that it makes my hair softer. I’m not sure if it didn’t work for me because of my hair type (wavy/curly) but I was disappointed in this product overall. I rated this 2/5 stars.
I prefer wash-off masks over sheet masks (which I have a lot of), so I was ok with receiving this product. I like that it is a detoxifying charcoal mask because I have found that using products containing charcoal works pretty great for my skin. As I was applying this face mask, I realized that it included tiny beads meant to exfoliate the skin. I am always hesitant to try exfoliants because I had a bad experience when I tried exfoliating my skin a while ago. I don’t know if I was being too rough, or if I just wasn’t using the right products, but ever since, I’ve been a bit nervous to exfoliate. I tried to be super careful when applying this onto my face. I let it sit for around 10 minutes, and then I washed it off with warm water. I’d say that I didn’t really care for the smell, and I would like it even more if it were just a face mask and not a combination of a face mask and exfoliant! I rated this 3/5 stars.
Tarte – SEA H2O Gloss Lip Gloss in Below Deck (my pick)
I absolutely LOVE the brand Tarte, so when I saw that I could choose this item for myself, I was excited! The color is absolutely stunning, and it is perfect for summer. The gloss is not too sticky, and it doesn’t have an incredibly strong scent. I typically go for lipsticks over glosses but because I love the brand, I wanted to try it out! The one downside to this product is the fact that it is a pretty small sample size! I rated this 4/5 stars.
Let me know what you received in your May glam bags in a comment below! As always, thank you so much for reading!
I always look forward to receiving my glam bags, however this is especially true lately. Being stuck at home all the time due to the COVID-19 pandemic is difficult some days. Not going to lie, online shopping and beauty subscriptions like Ipsy have been boosting my mood a lot lately!
So, this month, the theme was “full bloom”. Ipsy wanted its members to get glam for the spring time, and I am all about it! I absolutely adore this months bag! The floral design is perfect for spring, and the lilac and pink are gorgeous. I also love the circular wooden zipper. While I do love the design, I did not really love the products I received this month. I rated my overall bag a 2/5 stars. As usual, I did not peek at what I was going to receive until I actually got the bag in the mail (I like to be surprised)!
So, this is the product I chose to receive this month! I was in need of a new setting powder, so when I saw this I knew I needed to try it. I never feel like I have much to say when it comes to setting powders, but I do like this one a lot! With loose powders, I feel like I am never applying too much, which is good. I rated this 4/5 stars.
I had a VERY bad experience using a face scrub in the past. As someone who has struggled with acne, I have learned that facial scrubs are NOT my friend. I once tried using a facial scrub and brush to exfoliate and well, it made my acne flare up and spread. I was hesitant to use this product, so I applied a tiny bit to my fingers and very gently applied this on my face. I don’t plan on using it often, though it is gentle compared to other exfoliants I’ve tried. I rated this 2/5 stars (mostly because I am not a fan of face scrubs).
I do not really use face masks very often, but when I do, I definitely prefer the kind you can wash off! I love the fact that this one is gold! I haven’t really had a chance to use it, but I don’t think that I will have an issue with it. I will hold off on rating this for now.
I was really excited to try out this mascara because I have heard great things about this brand. I really like the wand of this mascara, however the product itself is not my favorite. I found that it gave my lashes a very natural look. It did lengthen them a bit, but it really did not give me the volume I like. I think this mascara is perfect for a more natural/everyday makeup look. I will continue to use this product, but it is not a favorite of mine. I rated this 3/5 stars.
I used to use liquid eyeliner ALL THE TIME. Now, I rarely ever use it; partly because I still struggle to create the perfect wings, but also because it can be really difficult to take off. I didn’t really want to use this product, but I did swatch it on my hand. It appeared to be very pigmented, though I am not sure how long it would last. I tried a mascara by this brand last month and it was not the best. If I do decide to use liquid eyeliner soon, I will try this one out, however I was not thrilled to receive this. I rated this 3/5 stars.
Sadly, this months bag was not the best for me, however I am excited to see what I get in my May glam bag! Let me know what you received in your April glam bags in a comment below! Thank you for reading!

It has taken me quite a while to get a solid skincare routine down. Even now, my routine is not perfect (so don’t judge too harshly). I have found quite a few products that I have fallen in love with and I wanted to share them with you today! I am not only going to be sharing my skincare routine with you, but also a very simple and fresh makeup look for the spring time!
Since I have been staying home due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, I rarely wear makeup. I like to get glammed up once a week for fun (and for pictures). What I’ve noticed is just how clear my skin is getting! I think that it is a combination of not wearing makeup and using the right products for my skin. I have struggled with acne since I was about 12 years old, and I am 20 now. While in school or working, I like to wear a bit of makeup because I feel that I look more presentable and it gives me a bit of confidence. I also do it to cover up my blemishes. I think I’ve finally realized what part of the problem is… my skin HATES makeup. For someone who loves makeup so much, this realization has been frustrating, to say the least!
I’ve been taking much better care of my skin now. I change my pillow case frequently, I clean my makeup brushes once a week, I try not to touch my face, and I’ve been using some amazing skincare products.
My skincare routine:
If I am wearing makeup, I normally take it off once I am home for the day (this is usually earlier than when I do my full skincare routine). Anytime I see people rubbing their skin harshly to either remove or apply their makeup, a part of me is cringing! Honestly though, I used to do this too. Now I try to be super careful. After removing my makeup, I will usually cleanse my face quickly because I feel like it helps to remove whatever makeup is left on my skin. Then, if I feel like my skin needs it, I’ll apply a bit of moisturizer or hydrating cream.
Now onto my daily routine! As I mentioned, my skincare routine is not perfect, and I am still learning. This is just what I like to do!
At night, after washing my face in the shower, I like to use an acne cleanser. My favorite is the Bioré Charcoal Acne Clearing Cleanser. This does dry out my skin a bit, so it is important that I hydrate!
Next, I use my new favorite cleanser by Youth to the People. It is the Kale and Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser. I have been loving this product lately, so I wanted to share it with you! This product smells so good (the best way I can describe it is fresh), and I truly feel that it does an amazing job of deeply cleansing my skin. I highly recommend trying this product out for yourself!
The next step is serum. I got this serum trio from Artnaturals. I have spoken about this brand on my blog before, but I had never tried their skincare products! I was excited to try these out and they did NOT disappoint! This trio comes with a Vitamin C serum (reduces wrinkles, fine lines and dark circles), a Retinol Serum (age defying), and a hydrating serum (moisturizing). I wasn’t sure what to expect , and to be honest I did not have high hopes. It is safe to say that I have fallen head over heels with this trio. My blemishes are disappearing, the texture of my skin has improved, and I truly feel like my skin is glowing. And this is after only 2 weeks of using the serums! I believe that the retinol serum has helped me the most, but I enjoy using the other 2 as well. I use the retinol serum at night. I absolutely love these products, and I would recommend them to everyone!
Occasionally, I will apply face oil next (I do not do this too often though). I have been using the face oil by Go-To Skincare. Typically, after this I will apply a moisturizer. My favorite one at the moment is the Dr. Frog Water Fullcharge All In One. This moisturizer is amazing, and it has quickly become a part of my everyday routine. I gently blend this into my skin and I bring it down to my neck as well. This does not have a very strong scent, but it is subtle and it smells nice. This product makes my skin INCREDIBLY soft, and it feels refreshing and hydrating. This is another product I would recommend!
After, I will move onto my eyes. Lately, I have been using both an eye serum as well as an eye cream (sometimes I’ll use one or the other). I have pretty dark under eye circles, but because of my big eyes, I feel like I have always had them! I don’t believe that anything can necessarily get rid of under eye circles, but there are products that may lessen the appearance. I have been using the Dermadeli Nourishing Eye Serum. I don’t have much to say about this product because I have not seen a difference yet. I apply a tiny drop of this and very gently dab this under and around my eyes. Then I go in with my Murad Renewing Eye Cream and once again, gently dab this under my eyes.
In the morning, I don’t like to go too crazy. I will first wash my face with my Bioré acne cleanser. Then I use the Artnaturals Vitamin C Serum, and follow up with the Moisturizing serum!
My fresh face makeup routine:
Now, I know I said that my skin has been clearing up and I really do believe not wearing makeup has been a major help! However, I did want to share a simple, fresh makeup look today. This look is perfect for those warm spring days.
First, I like to prime my eyelids to keep the shadow on all day long. On days when I am doing a natural look, I will either not apply eyeshadow, or I’ll apply a very neutral color. Today, I decided to wear a single eyeshadow by Phase Zero, in the shade “Banana Beige”. This is the perfect color to brighten up the eyes without overdoing it, and it adds a bit of sparkle! I simply applied this all over my lids, and lightly blended it up into my crease.
Then, I curled my lashes and I took one of my absolute favorite mascaras, the Maybelline Lash Sensational Curvitude mascara in black. I applied this to my top and bottom lashes. What I love about this mascara is the fact that it makes my lashes very long, but it does not give me too much volume. It appears very natural, and I love the look of long, natural lashes.
Next, I used my Hydra Veil face primer by the brand Illamasqua. I applied my go-to foundation, the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, with a sponge. If you have a BB Cream or a Tinted Moisturizer, I would actually recommend this. It is much lighter than foundation, so If I had one, that is what I would use instead! I then applied my loose setting powder by YC Collection, and I sweeped this across my face.
I have been obsessed with cream highlighters lately, and this was my next step. I love nothing more than a blinding highlighter, and this one does the job perfectly in my opinion. I used my highlighter by the brand Flesh, in the shade “Pinky” and applied it right above my cheekbones, my brow bones, the inner corners of my eyes, and the tip of my nose.
I then took a blush by Kaleido Cosmetics in the shade “Primadonna” and brushed this onto the apples of my cheeks. I love this shade because it is the most beautiful pink. It is not too light or too dark, and it gives me glowing, rosy cheeks.
I applied some chapstick, and then took one of my favorite glosses by Vasanti Cosmetics in the shade “Super Mom”. I love doing a glossy lip when I do natural makeup looks. It also added to the glow that I was going for!
Lastly, I sprayed my Pixi by Petra Glow Mist to complete the look!
That is it for the fresh, glowy makeup look! It is very simple, and it literally took me 5 minutes to do!
Thank you so much for reading! If you try any of the skincare or makeup products, let me know what you think! Until next time!
Hey beauty lovers! Today I am sharing what is in my march Ipsy glam bag and glam bag ultimate! This month’s glam bag ultimate will be my last, but I still plan on receiving the regular glam bags every month.
This month, Ipsy celebrated their 100th glam bag! Ipsy decided to gift members with a $2 credit toward an add-on, and a personalized product in all glam bags! I love the bag this month! I think that the turquoise and lime green are a beautiful combination for the spring time, and the studs are a nice touch.
For my glam bag, I rated it a 4/5 stars! I liked many of the products I received this month.
Inside the glam bag:
Girlactik – Precise Marker Liner in Black Noir
I do not wear liquid eyeliner all that often (partly because creating the perfect wing can be a struggle at times), however I created a makeup look using this eyeliner this month. This product worked really well for me, and I found it to be very pigmented and easy to use. I rated this 4/5 stars.
FoxyBae – Replenishing Hair Mask
I was only able to use this a couple times so I can’t give a real in depth review of it right now, but I did notice that my hair felt softer after using it! I will hold off on rating this for now!
Ofra Cosmetics – Bronzer in Americano
I am such a big fan of Ofra Cosmetics! I do not wear bronzer very much but I was looking forward to trying this one. For some reason, I do not love the look of bronzer on me, but I do think this would be beautiful to wear in the summer time! I rated this product 4/5 stars.
Wander Beauty – Eyeshadow in Bouquet (my pick)
I am in LOVE with this eyeshadow! I knew the second I saw it I was going to love it. The champagne color is stunning and can be included in many different makeup looks. I applied this all over my lids and then blended it up into my crease for a more natural/everyday look. I rated this shadow 5/5 stars!
Hanalei Company – Kukui Lip Balm in Tropical Citrus
The smell of this lip balm reminds me of something I used to eat from my childhood. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I am not mad at it at all! It smells tropical, which I really enjoy. While I do love hydrating my lips and using lip balms daily, I did not really need another one! I rated this product 3/5 stars.
Sugar Cosmetics – Uptown Girl Lengthening Mascara in Black
I really like trying out different mascaras though this one did not impress me. I felt that it did not give me the length or volume that I want, and it did clump my lashes a bit. I would rate this mascara 3/5 stars.
And now for my glam bag ultimate! I rated it 3/5 stars this month.
Inside the glam bag ultimate:
Pixi by Petra – Glow Mist Setting Spray
I was never really one to use setting sprays, however I really like this one! Thanks to ipsy, Pixi by Petra has become a favorite brand of mine. I spray this on my face after finishing my makeup and it gives me a subtle glow. I rated this product 4/5 stars.
Go-To – Face Hero
I am always hesitant to try face oils. I have acne prone skin, so face oil is not necessarily something I like to use often. While I did not really like the smell of this product, I did use it a few times this month. I have to say, I have not noticed much of a difference with my skin just yet, but this may be the kind of product you need to use for a while before seeing results.
Dermadeli – Nourishing Eye Serum
As someone with dark under eye circles, I get really excited when I receive eye products! With this serum, a little goes a VERY long way! A small drop of this serum is plenty! I apply this all around the area of my eyes and gently dab it into my skin. I will continue to use this product and hopefully I will see a difference.
Hey Honey – Show Your Glow Colloidal Gold & Honey Beauty Mask
I love the fact that this mask is gold! It honestly looked like I brushed a ton of highlight all over my face! I only used it once, but I do really enjoy wash-off masks, so I will continue to use this! I rated this 4/5 stars!
111Skin – Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Sheet Mask & Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask Set
I am really not a fan of sheet masks, so this was not my favorite product to try! I do like receiving eye masks but I haven’t had the chance to use this just yet!
I have fallen in love with this serum! My skincare routine has been coming together lately and this product is now a favorite! It smells like oranges and makes me feel refreshed! I am going to continue to use it, but at this point I would like to rate it 5/5 stars (if this were to change for some reason, I will update).
Chella – La Vie Eyeshadow Palette Deluxe
This eyeshadow palette is absolutely beautiful! The colors are gorgeous and can be worn daily! The palette includes 2 matte shades and 2 shimmer shades. The shadows are very pigmented and I think that I will be reaching for this palette often! I rated this 5/5 stars.
Christophe Robin – Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt
I had never used a product like this before! I replaced my usual shampoo with this. The first thing I noticed was the texture. It was very grainy and definitely felt like a scrub. Then, as I was using it, I noticed the scent. This smelled like men’s deodorant which is not my absolute favorite smell, so I didn’t love that! I feel like this is a product I would need to use more than once to see if I like it, so I will update if I end up really enjoying or really disliking it!
Library of Flowers – Honeycomb Handcreme
I do not use hand creams that much, so I did not really care to receive this product. It does smell nice and it made my hands feel very soft, so I will be using this product occasionally. I rated this 3/5 stars.
Moon Oral Care – Kendall Jenner Teeth Whitening Pen in Vanilla Mint
If I am being honest, I am still hesitant to use this product. If I do, I will let you know what I think of it!
Complex Culture – Angled Foundation Brush
I prefer to use my hands or a sponge to apply my foundation, so this brush will probably not be used very often! I rated this brush 2/5 stars.
Illamasqua – Hydro Veil Primer
When I first received this product, I did not really know what it was. I read about it, and saw that it was a makeup primer. I applied this before applying my foundation. It was strange because I had never tried a gel face primer before. It almost felt like a moisturizer because it was hydrating! I only got to use this a couple times so I am not sure if I should rate it just yet.
Youth to the People – Superfood Cleanser
I love trying out cleansers and this one did not disappoint! This product smelled and felt very clean. I don’t use it every day because I like switching out my products, but I did use this a few times this month and I really enjoyed it. I rated this 5/5 stars!
Thank you all so much for reading! I know that I have been doing these “what’s in my glam bag” posts for a while now, so I am trying to find a way to change it up for you all. This way, it won’t be too repetitive! I am open to any suggestions you may have, so leave a comment below!
Hey everyone! Today I NEED to talk to you all about this hair product because it has very quickly become a favorite of mine!
I definitely have a love/hate relationship with my hair. It honestly depends on the day… and the season. In the hotter months, my hair can get a bit frizzy and dry whereas in the winter I feel like I can tame it much easier. My hair is a strange mix of wavy and curly. I try not to use too much heat on my hair to avoid damage, so I often leave it natural. If I brush my natural hair… well, I don’t even want to go there!
Let’s talk about the product! Last year, I was looking online for a decent hair mask to try. I was reading about a celebrity recommended hair mask, but of course, it was little expensive. I looked at the ingredients included, and found a hair mask that was much cheaper on Amazon, but it still included many of the same ingredients. This product contains natural and organic ingredients such as argan oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, aloe vera, and keratin. This hair mask claims to repair, hydrate, and moisturize your hair.
This the artnaturals Argan Oil Hair Mask ($11.90 on Amazon). To use this hair mask, you simply apply a quarter size amount onto your palm and distribute it throughout your hair (after using my fingers, I grab a comb and brush it through). When I use this product, I’ll typically wash my hair normally, using shampoo and then conditioner, and then I’ll apply the hair mask. The directions say to leave the mask on for 3-5 minutes or 20 minutes if you have damaged hair. I found that 10 minutes works best for me personally. While letting the hair mask sit for 10 minutes, I will shave my legs. Once the time is up, I simply rinse out the hair mask. After using this product, I don’t like to put anything else in my hair.
This mask smells so good! When I first started using it, I wasn’t sure if I would see much of a difference, but I was hopeful. What I quickly noticed is just how soft and silky it made my hair. I could easily run my fingers through my hair, and the texture was not dry, hard, or greasy. I also think that this product gave my hair some shine which was needed!
It has definitely taken me some time to learn how to manage my hair. I still deal with a bit of frizz, especially during the hotter months, but I have been trying out quite a few new hair products lately, so if I come across anything else that stands out, I will be sure to share it with you all! As for this hair mask, I highly recommend trying it out for yourself! If your hair is in desperate need of a revival after the winter months, this product is for you! Let me know if you try out this hair mask, and leave me a comment telling me what you think of it!
