OOTD: Spring is That You?

Hey everyone! Today I really wanted to share an outfit of the day. Spring is right around the corner, and it’s safe to say that this is my absolute favorite season for many reasons! The weather is gorgeous, the world around us is bright and vibrant with color again, and of course, spring fashion is always very exciting for me!

I am finally going to being posting some spring related content, starting with an outfit of the day! I have been looking forward to sharing this outfit with you all because I feel that it is perfect for this time of year! Where I live, it’s finally starting to get warmer, which I absolutely love! While spring may be a short season, you still have time to rock some spring fashion trends.

I recently bought this adorable dress from Ross, and I immediately knew that I wanted to center an outfit of the day around it! Ross is a very affordable place to shop, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you have one nearby. It is often compared to T.J. Maxx or Marshalls, and they have amazing prices on home décor, clothing, etc. I love this dress for many reasons. First, the pink/mauve color is beautiful for spring, and there are so many small details that make this dress so fun and girly. Any time I see big sleeves, I obsess over them, and when I picked up this dress, my reaction was no different. Sometimes, I love when trends make a comeback, and I now own a few items with big/puffy sleeves! Typically, bodycon dresses aren’t my favorite (I prefer flowy midi dresses for the most part), however I thought this one was very flattering on me. The belt at the waist is a very nice touch, and the zipper going down the front adds even more detail. I also really liked the sweetheart neckline with this dress because it gives it a feminine feel. The quality of this dress is decent, and I paid around $20 for it. Definitely be sure to check out your local Ross, and if this is unavailable to you, I will link dresses that are either similar or have similar characteristics here, here, and here.

As for the handbag, I decided to have a bit of fun! I normally prefer bags that are neutral, however, depending on the outfit, I think a pop of color can look great as well! For today’s look, I went with this bright yellow handbag. I love the floral detailing on the front, and all of the beautiful colors scream spring time! The shape of this bag is super cute and chic too. I thought that since the dress was all one color without any crazy designs or patterns, the bag would pair well with it! It can be worn as a crossbody, but with this dress, I liked it better as a handbag. Anything floral for the warmer months is always on trend and stylish, so I wanted to share a couple handbags that are gorgeous for the spring time! Click here, here, and here to check them out!

For my shoes, I went with a simple pair of nude block heels. I adore these shoes because they are so easy to style and wear, and they can be dressed up or down. They are perfect for spring and summer, and they can be found pretty much anywhere! I think every girl should own a pair of nude heels! I bought these in a size 8.5 at Target last year for around $25. You can purchase these heels here.

I wanted my jewelry to match the details on the dress, so I went with silver. My necklace was a sweet Valentine’s gift from my boyfriend Tom. The infinity symbol is special to us, and I just think that this necklace is so so beautiful (thank you baby)! For my earrings, I went with a pair of big silver hoops to complete the look!

That is all for my outfit of the day! Thank you so much for checking out today’s blog post! I am really excited for all of the content that I plan to share this season! Until next time!

OOTD: Spring Style

I am very excited about sharing this OOTD because I purchased it while on my dream trip. I am a big fan of wearing dresses, and I absolutely adore this one!

Earlier this year, I went on my dream trip to France! Of course, I did a bit of shopping while I was there, and brought back a few pieces that I fell in love with. I want to start by talking about the dress itself. While I was walking through the Latin Quarter in Paris, a few of the girls and I stopped by some of the boutiques. We were really just window shopping, but when we stopped by a boutique called Côte à Côte, something caught my eye.

I purchased this beautiful dress for €29.99. This high-low dress is perfect for spring, and the colors are stunning as well. I actually do not have a lot of green in my wardrobe, so this was different for me! The dress is also white and gold with a little bit of navy blue in there as well. The pattern reminds me of New Orleans, and the ruffles add to the feminine look. There is also a fabric belt to cinch in the waist.

The dress is by the brand “Chic and Jeune”, but sadly, I could not find this dress online. Unless you live by a boutique called Côte à Côte, I am not sure there is any way you can purchase this exact dress. I apologize about this, however, I found a VERY similar dress that can be purchased on Amazon for around $17! Another similar dress is linked here.

As for shoes, I am wearing my go-to black heels. I love the simple yet elegant look of block heels, and I bought these from Amazon a couple of years ago for around $20-$30. They are by the brand “Madden Girl”.

When it comes to jewelry, I love having a staple piece (or pieces) that I wear daily. I am wearing these 2 gold rings that I have been wearing every day since I was about 13 or 14 years old. My mother let me have them, and I love the look of dainty rings. For my earrings, I am wearing a pair that were my grandma’s. When she passed away, my dad let me have some of her jewelry, and I think that these earrings are beautiful. I am also wearing this gold coin necklace that I just purchased from Amazon. I love the vintage vibe that I get with this necklace! Lastly, I added a few gold bangles.

OOTD: Fluent in French

There are many things that come to mind when I think of Paris, however one of the biggest is, of course, fashion! While traveling to France over spring break, I purchased a few clothing items and I have been dying to share them with you! So, what better way to do that than an outfit of the day?

I have always been a very observant person, so in the midst of enjoying the beautiful buildings and attractions in Paris and Lyon, I obviously noticed what people were wearing. While some locals were dressed a bit more casually, I saw many who, in my mind, looked exactly how I expected them to look. Elegant, classy, and chic. The women looked very put together and stylish, and the same could be said for the men. French casual is VERY different from American casual, to say the least. By looking at the locals, shopping, and browsing through the boutiques, I found my inspiration for a Parisian outfit.

I want to start by talking about one of my newest obsessions. While shopping on the Champs Elysees, a few of the girls and I decided to stop by Zara. I know that this is a store I could shop at in America, but I do not believe there is a Zara near me! I can honestly say that I never imagined I’d be wearing a skort again, but here we are! This is the Buttoned Skort in Black. I fell in love with this the second I saw it. I knew I needed to have it. The button details as well as the hints of silver and gold are stunning. I bought this skort for €19.95 in a size small. This piece does not necessarily give off a “Parisian” vibe, however I HAD to include it in this outfit because I am so in love with it!

For my top, I wanted to wear something simple. I am wearing a black, cropped bustier top. I purchased this top from PacSun for about $35 in a size medium. I was debating whether or not to wear a white or a black top, but I ultimately decided that the black top looked best with this outfit!

And now, my favorite souvenir. One thing that I was searching for on my trip was a nice brown trench coat. When I think of French fashion, the first thing that pops into my head are trench coats. I really wanted this to be my biggest souvenir. The trip was almost over, and I had yet to find a trench coat in my price range. I found that many of the trench coats I was looking at were a little too pricey for my budget. While touring through Old Lyon, my friend and I decided to stop by a store called Pimkie, which I believe is the European equivalent to H&M. As soon as we walked in, I spotted a beautiful light brown trench coat. This coat is a bit thinner than the others that I found, which means it can be worn pretty much all year round. I paid €50.00 for this coat, and it is in a size small.

For my shoes, I decided to wear my black pointed toe ankle boots. I purchased these last fall from Forever 21.  I feel that these shoes were the perfect choice for this outfit because pointed toe shoes always look classy and the locals seemed to love ankle boots as well!

As for the accessories, I wanted to share the most important piece that completes this look: A black beret. Call me cliché, but I knew I couldn’t leave France without buying one… or two! I actually thought that the locals did not wear berets, and that it was a style that tourists took over. However, I actually saw quite a few of the locals wearing them!

Thank you so much for reading! I may not be fluent in French, but I am definitely fluent in French fashion! 😉
